Pulled the trigger today on the 84” 36 volt Rhodan trolling motor and Ionic 36 volt lithium ion battery for my 2300dv. I got lucky and found a high volume dealer that said he should be able to get the motor in about 5 weeks. I plan to photo the install and write it up for Classic Parker and will post details as soon as the install is complete.

Can you name the dealer?

I then placed the aluminum mounting plate and used a 1”x4” the same length as the motor (motor will not be in until about 4/16) to make sure my proposed layout kept the motor inside the rub rail yet wouldn’t be in the way when stowed of the forward storage areas.

I’ll be able to reuse the bottom smallest cleat hole when I relocate the cleat after the trolling motor is installed

Once I get the house/start batteries relocated, I’m going to put a small starboard “wall” with holes along the bottom of it to allow water to drain between the bilge area and the area where the batteries were & use that area to store my cast net

How long is the total length of an 84 inch Rhodan? My 72 inch MinnKota is almost 90 inches in total length.

Was able to get back down to the boat yesterday afternoon. After several attempts using different methods found the attached Klein glow tape to be the easiest method for fishing snake pulls. It took about 5 minutes total. It was easiest to fish from the pie plate next to the center console door back toward the verticle fuel fill chase. I attached the pull snakes and pulled them down and out of the pie plate. I then pushed the fish tape from inside the console back to the pie plate then pulled the pull snakes back inside the console.

There is a horizontal support that runs parallel to the center console over the top of the gas tank. I found that trying to pull the wires from inside the console back toward the pie plate there isn’t enough room to pull the wire back through going out between the fuel line & fuel vent line. It was best to direct the wire to the right side (sitting inside the center console) of the horizontal cross member. There was enough room here for the wires to pass back to the pie plate. Word of caution, only pull one wire at a time. Every time I tried to pull two together they would hang up. Once I had the wires pulled to the pie plate, I would pull enough slack in the wire so it was no resistance as I pulled the wire from the pie plate to the vertical fuel fill chase. Go slow and easy, I found the slower I pulled the wire, the easier it was to get it to turn vertical.

Once I had it out of the fuel chase I used the same fish tape to pull some paracord from the anchor locker and used that to pull the power wires into the anchor locker.

I wrapped some electrical tape around the two power wires that fit in between the fuel fill & vent line as a temporary measure. When I head back down next week I’m going to put some high density pipe insulation around the wires to keep them from getting chaffed by the pipe clamps.

Since I removed the bow deck nav lights to make room for the mounting location I wanted I had to install Taco’s side mount lights. I drilled both holes & temporarily mounted them. I left them loose so I can pull them out and wire them in next weekend.

That’s all I had time for today. I’ve been traveling quite a bit for work the last few weeks and my wife wasn’t too accommodating when I said I may spend the weekend at the coast working on the boat 🤔
