    150 Yamaha

Hi Kport, I just read your post. Small world, this was my boat. If you would like to ask me any questions, just call me. I would be happy to know how she is doing. Ron. 914-682-4193

    Fuel tank longevity

I’m sorry that you misunderstood my intention. I started my post by agreeing with you that checking access plates is a good practice. In fact I do it all the time when refueling, checking for leaks or gas fumes before starting my engine. I was trying to add an additional point that it is...

    Fuel tank longevity

Although I agree that it is a good policy to check under inspection plates when refueling, I have seen laid up boats with full tanks leak gas out of the fuel tank vent. My understanding is that is condition occurs by expansion due to temperature changes and the angle of the boat during storage...

    2120 Deck Repair

Good morning, I’m enjoying your posts and Warts advice. I have a 2017 2120 and am curious about something. Parker states that the stringer grid and bulkheads are fully incapsulated in fiberglass and therefore rot proof, from the pics it seems the stringers and bulkheads are only tabed on the...

Yamaha Mechanic Reference - Central Long Island

I have used Accurate Marine in Bohemia NY. for Yamaha service and have been pleased with their work. I don’t know if they do engine surveys but give them a call and ask for Chip who is the owner. Good luck.

    Concerned about Parker purchase

I don’t believe the wood is to contain the foam. On my 2120 I have exposed wood on top of the gas tank. I believe the wood is either a deck support or braces for the gas tank.

    profish 700 windlass

Thanks, PKS. Last question, are you saying that you reduce the strands by 1/3 after using all the strands in the first 3 tucks.

    profish 700 windlass

I have the same problem with my windlass at the rope to chain connection. Many times I need to raise and lower the line until it finally catches and passes the splice. My anchor, chain, and line was purchased from Lewmar as a package including the splice being Lewmar made. I don’t know if the...

Bow Bilge pump area in the 2310 in cabin

I have a 2017 2120 (purchased new) with the same problem. Mine is worse because there is no access hatch or bilge pump forward ( only aft) Very foolish design, and a bilge pump is not an option when buying the boat. Putting one in now is a major job. My water comes in from the anchor locker and...

    2120 Winter Storage

My 2120 is shrink wrapped and I always keep the door, hatch, and windows closed. Reason being that the opening by the outboard engine well along with 4 vents in the shrink wrap allows for good ventilation throughout the boat, including the cabin due to the permanent openings under the cockpit...

Water trapped in front bilge compartment

I have a 2017 2120 sport cabin with the same issue. The anchor locker, and anchor windlass leak rainwater into the anchor locker, which drains into the bilge. I think that is a poor design. My boat stays in the water and when not used for a few weeks rainwater stays in the forward bilge. With...
