2002 Yamaha F225 TXRA lower unit

I need a need lower unit, 25” shaft 02 Yam F225 TXRA four stroke and in Florida so local pickup is an option.

A new unit is $3400 and rebuilt one is $3250 in St Pete which burns my biscuits

How are SEI, Monarch, Crowley rebuilt units? Any others shops ? I see them on eBay.


Any other shops in Florida? Warthog, recommendations?

I purchased one SEI 3 years ago for my 2001 ox. So far so good no complaints. 3yr warranty compare to spending 3x much on yamaha rebuild with no warranty..

Shop in St Pete will inspect it tomorrow and determine if rebuilable or need new or reman. Rebuilding is less expensive. I feel it is only the bearings making noise.

I bought a reman unit with all new Yamaha parts, oil and pressure check for $2750 from Marine Rebuilds in Tampa Bay area. I could not buy a SEI unit for various reasons. Mine could be rebuilt but needed several days and machine work. Price would be lower but have family arriving for fun, fishing n boating. The reman unit is new style with extra water vents, and mechanic can installed quickly bc I am re covering from med procedures.
