First of all, I want to thank all of you who sent me emails and posts with your thoughts and prayers. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a group with a common interest can bond with it’s own.

As you can see, my number wasn’t called yet, but it was close. Apparently, I had suffered major blockage of the right pulmonary artery. All Pulmonary Embolisms are potentially fatal. Mine was bad.

I’ll save you the details by just telling you that, 2 hours after checking into ER and having various tests done, the Doc told my wife to call any family that I might want with me. That was it. I’m no rocket scientist, but I was able to figure out what that meant.

Now it was a matter of whether or not they could get to the embolism before it would stop my ability to breathe and subsequently cause my heart to fail.

Well, thanks to a quick thinking ER Doc and a few specialists, I survived the first 24 hours and it just got better from there. While I am still in the hospital, I feel a lot better and should be home soon.

Got a boat to detail, get some maintenance done and get ready for when Grouper season opens up. The only words that can make me feel any better at this point are; FISH ON!

Thanks again. - Larry

Hey Larry good to see you are ok? Hope you have alot more good days. Hey lets go see the Doc more often ok and FISH ON Tom

Hey, man...Good to see you getting well. Hope you're upright soon. Take care of yourself. I know what you mean about the sphincter-tightening, bowel roiling experience that comes with being told that you just might be toe-tagged. I was told I had lung cancer in Apr '05, and it has changed my life...believe it or not for the better. We learn to enjoy life more fully with our time here when we wild men finally realize that we're not bulletproof. We've never met, but, as a fellow traveler and Parker nut, if you ever need anything from me just holler....

Again, good luck, get well, and most of all.... Good fishing!!

I'm glad to hear you are getting better. Be carefuf to not over do things after you get home.

Glad to have you back on line with us. Wishing you the speedest recovery so that you may have a FISH ON your line.

Larry
So glad you are better.
Looks like all the prayers sent helped out.

Joe

Good to hear from you and see you posting.

FISH ON is right :D !

Larry - glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. The motto in my office is "Fish Hard" b/c you don't know what tomorrow brings.

Brad

Wow   , look what happens when I don't come on here every day. Larry, so glad you are doing better, I'm sorry I missed the original post, but glad you are recovering. You know this could work to your benefit as to have Jim pack you out fishing so not to over exert yourself

Take care and I wish you a speedy recovery.

John

Larry,
Glad to hear you are doing better. We don't get many of those Groupers up here in the Chesapeake Bay. I hope you can get out fishing soon. Don't rush--- do what the Doc's say. It is tough getting old but it beats the alternative.
Bob

Good to hear that you had some good docs, some good meds, and a lot of good CP karma to help you through this life crisis.
Been there... done that... and I'd really rather not go through it again.

Take care brother. I have a feeling that you'll be digging grouper before too very long.
