Hello everyone!

So after many years of fishing from a 2530, I found myself in need of a different vessel to satisfy my fishing and boating needs. The 2530 is an excellent platform for most of what I do around the Delaware area; however, recently I’ve been fishing by myself most of the time, and operating a 25’ pilothouse and trying to fish bridges, inlets and other tight areas single-handed just wasn’t working. Therefore, I started out on my search for a smaller center console that I could run and fish by myself. This was made difficult by the fact that, being spoiled by growing up with the 2530, very few small CCs met my standards of construction, layout and quality. My available options dwindled quickly, and the search dragged on.

Therefore, I’m happy to announce that after a year or so of cruising boat sales sites, stopping beside roadways, soliciting info on here and one VERY patient Craigslist seller who was willing to wait 2 months for me to get back from my ship’s deployment, I am the proud owner of a 1997 Parker 1700! This was the boat that I decided was the only one that would fit my particular needs, and the stars aligned just right to bring this one to my driveway.

The interesting part is, while browsing old ads in the For Sale section looking for info on this model, I had run across a two year old ad from former member DougFunny for a 1700 that was EXACTLY the boat I wanted. It had been long sold, and I was sad that I’d missed it. Fast forward a few years, and I found the exact same boat with a new t-top and a different trailer on the last page of the Virginia Beach Craigslist boat ads, while browsing from half a planet away. A few emails and a couple anxious months later, and now she’s mine.

She needs a bit of work and TLC before she’s up to where I want her to be, but for me that’s half the fun and I can’t wait to get started.

Attached below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure, since I know everyone likes boat porn and it gives me an excuse to look at them again [emoji1]

Congrats. She looks great for the age and appears to have good bones with leaning post and a newer 115. Should scoot along with that power. A little polishing and stuff and you will be good to go. Enjoy!

Congratulations Pelagic, Very nice little CC and I especially like the full transom. I haven't seen many that size without a notched transom. I too have just moved from 20 yrs with a 2520 PH back to a center console Parker 23 SE to be delivered July 2. Prior to my 2 pilothouses I had a 23 CC which I enjoyed fishing from. So back to basics. Trailerable, less fuel, easier docking alone, easier clean up, and plenty of fishing room. Good luck with her and thanks for your service. And we'll need some fish pictures.
