Angle for bow rod holders on 23se

Bought a couple Lees flush 15 degree rod holders to mount towards the bow and am wondering how to orient them. Current thinking is to mimic the 45 deg angle of the forward most factory holders.

Use will be mostly drifting for flounder but might possibly see use trolling for rockfish.

Btw can anyone tell me how thick the cap is?
