nice job on yours but i'm looking for one that will fit right onto the existing capt chair posts or a new aluminum or ss 4 leg one that will fit on top of the existing baitwell. thanks

You need to talk to the good folks at Custom Marine Fabrication & Sports in New Bern, NC. For a time they were Parker's go-to fabricator for Leaning Posts, t-tops and such - still should be, IMHO.
Their work/design for Parker on the earlier chairs > L. Post is what led me to seek them out - and they'll do just about any custom aluminum welding/vinyl/fiberglass work you might need. Here's a link : http://www.nccustommarine.com/id2.html

No affiliations/relations/gyrations here, they just did right by me on a chairs w/baitwelll > leaning post w/baitwell conversion and if they're - or were - good enough for Parker, they're good enough for me.
I'd bet they'd appreciate hearing from you - and other CP members, too. Ask for Dan or Don. Don is, btw, the regional CCA bossman so be patient - he's busy right about now!

I just did the conversion you are looking to do. I bought a used leaning post from a member here who took it off the same model year as my 21SE (2000). The same exact one in sunburst's picture. There are a couple of things you need to know. The footprint for the captains chairs and for the leaning post is not the same. You will need to drill new holes for the base of the leaning post. i filled the old bolt holes with silicone where they were covered by the new base, except for 4 which were exposed. They will be filled with epoxy and gel coat once the weather warms up a little. If you have a new one built by the company sunburst recommends, they may be able to make the post footprint match up.

The other thing I discover, in order to get to two of the bolts to remove the seat posts, you have to pull up the baitwell from the deck. Not a big deal other than a minor annoyance, but we discovered that Parker uses silicone on their hoses to the fittings for the input and outflow hoses. There was no way to get the hoses off without cutting them, so I needed to make a late Sunday afternoon run out to a marine parts store for new hose. Again, not a big deal, but something you should prepare for. Also, while trying to get the hose off the baitwell pump, the housing broke. I am glad it did it then, because if the plastic was that brittle it was due for a changing anyway.

It is on now and I ran the boat for the first time this past Sunday with the leaning post. I like it MUCH better than the captains chairs. It is definitely a worthwhile addition.
