Boat Weight - 23' Walkaround

I just bought a 1992 23' Walkaround W / 200 Yamaha and will be trailering it 800 miles ( NC to RI ) in April. An old Parker brochure I got with the boat says the boat weight is 2700 lbs. A new Parker brochure I just picked up says a new model 2310 DV Walkaround weighs 4288 lbs. Is this correct, almost a 1600 lb. difference ? Also looking for advice on what's best to use and placement of hold downs while trailering. Thanks, Paul.

I'd be more inclined to accept the later figure. The previous figure may be "dry" without motors. The later one may be "wet" or ready to fuel and go.

You can always put the boat and trailer on a scale, then launch the boat, and go back and weigh the trailer.
