I do a lot of bottom and have a need for a couple of rod holders near the bow facing forward. My question is do I need standard 30 degree angle holders or do I need 15 degree holders ?

yea i wouldn't go over 15's and if your planning on bent butts then 0/90's will actually raise the reel closer to you.

Thanks. Yes mine will be used for drum and tarpon fishing. Been using cheap rail mounts for years. They are ugly and in the way. Cutting holes in gunnels always makes me very nervous.

Paul, I did exactly what you are talking about doing. I use those bow 15 degree holders for drum fishing exclusively. If you want me to send you a picture I can do that next weekend. The boat is in EI right now.

Knot Yes I would love a picture - of where you placed your rod holders. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.
