downrigger?

Im interested in downriggers. What is the prefered type? Scotty's or Cannon.
Have some conflicting info on the telescoping ones. The cannon mag 10 hs is the type I just looked at. Any ideas or opinions. Let her rip folks.

We have a couple Penn Fathom Master 24s mounted on the quick mounts for rod holders. They have lived through three different boats now and will be moved to a fourth in the near future.

We split the spool on one but fixed it up with a new one from Penn. Other then that they have been flawless. Functionality is great.

No comment on the Cannon or Scotty brands. No reason for us to try them.
