Thinking of leaving my Garmin in my 2510 over the winter. Anyone had any problems with these LCD units surviving the winter? I could also leave a 40 watt bulb in the dash access compartment to give it a little heat over the winter. Any thoughts/comments?

I was wondering the same thing ive always taken all my electronics off but ingot a new plotter this year and its flush mounted i could take it out but its not as easy

I have left mine in since 2003 and no bad effect
2006c Garmin GPS 1412 furuno Radar

no reason to take it out - esp you pilot house guys. im told the worst you can do it is disconnect and wrap the ends in plastic. this retains moisture and causes problemos

I just bought a new fcv-620 Furuno and they suggest keeping it out of freezing temps for any prolonged period..............Bought it 3 weeks ago..

That would really not be good up here in these Latitude's
What about ground fishing in the winter or winter dive trips
You have to take everything out of the boat each weekend :(
Not
