Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can help me out here with a quick question. I might have a problem with the fuel gauge. I really topped off my boat with gas back when I got her...actually overfilled it. I ended up having to siphon a little out of the tank to keep it from leaking out the expansion valve once the warmer temps hit. Anway since then I have taken the boat out for just a couple short trips. No more than 2 hours total of about 30 mins of going about 6 knots and then maybe the rest of the time at cruising 28-30 and a little bit wide open about 36 no more than 5 mins. It might just be in my head but I swear if the fuel gauge has moved at all it has hardly moved? I would think based on what I have read I would have burned around 15 gallons of fuel...I know it has the 100 gallon tank and I am wondering if anyone has an idea if it should have moved off of the F at this point. Now again it could be in my head because when I first got in I think the gauge has moved a little? How many hours could I expect to get on a full tank with a mix of 25% idling and 75% cruising?
So anyway this boat 1997 Parker 2101 has the original 1997 Yamaha Saltwater Series II engine on it. Engine runs pretty well she smokes a good bit at start up but once warmed up runs good.
Thanks everyone...I appreciate the help.
