the gaffer light is ON!
this past week the dorado fishing lit up out in the deep (250 fathoms for us).
i fished a private boat yesterday and we had 25 quality fish in the first couple of hours.
on the troll, no bailing rods. nice sized fish, a few bulls hitting 20lbs or better.
all the fish tacos a man could ask for.

Other than that a few blue ones and the odd white. Not much in the way of sails yet.
Yellowfin few and far between. Bottom guys getting nice grouper.

this big dolphin bite doesn't last long so if you've got the time, its time to fish.
the same bite is happening at Oregon Inlet also.
If you can't get your boat down book a charter.

be aware that these days hatteras ferry channel & inlet is not for the faint of heart.
If you're in a Parker you'll be fine in the channel.
If you're running a rig that draws more than 4' you'll definitely want to follow someone in & out.
Keep a track on your chartplotter & hug it close- especially around 12a.
Smaller boats be careful in the inlet during moving tides on a SW wind.
