I have a project I am thinking of doing making a twin I/o Catamaran into a twin outboard boat. I would have to remove i/os and cover openings the transom is about 2" thick, I am thinking jackplates for the obs. The outboards would be above the i/o openings has anyone done this on any kind of boat? is this doable.

Anything is doable.... But I have a question about the jackplates...... Will there be room to tilt the motors with this setup?

After looking at the stern I think I will have to use a set back bracket 2'. I plan on moving fuel tanks forward when I remove the Volvo 4.3 engines my biggest ? is center of gravity. The boat is a 2000 Baha Cruiser 27' cat it has 190hp engines I am thinking 175-200hp 2or4stroke. I am looking a Suzuki for 4s E-Tech for 2s, I wish I could get specs or drawlings for this boat Baha Cruiser burnt down and never rebuilt.

The Etec's will take up more room.

Why?........ Because you have oil tanks to deal with.
