Had installed a Perko locking gas cap last year as someone had helped themselves to some fuel from my moored boat. Had no problem with it all last year. Launched this year and had run about 20 gallons per the Merc smartgauges on my Optimax. Had three days of torrential rain last week and got a water in gas alarm on my subsequent use. Have replaced Racor,drained VST,replaced engine castellated filter and treated fuel which seems to have stopped the problem.
Had someone say they had heard of water ingress with locking caps-any folks with experience or suggestions? Don't care for gas being stolen but it may be cheaper than water in gas :roll:
