Reaching out to all you NC/SC Parker guys.
My son is on the road heading your way for Spring Break from RI. Not good timing with the storm but taking it slow with his girlfriend and her father. He is in the marine biology program at U.R.I. and loves fishing so I put together a travel bag with some fishing gear for him to throw in the car. He will be spending 10 days at Myrtle Beach. Looking for some information to pass along to him and figured this sight might be a good resource to turn. Any advise including shore and pier reports on whats running as well as recommendations for good charter captains in the area would be much appreciated!
Looking forward to getting my Parker out of storage next month and getting her ready for the season here in the North East!!

Some redfish and speckled trout are being caught in the creeks. The redfish are still schooled tight and hard to find but rewarding if you get on the schools. Would highly suggest a guide to get on them. Not much happening from shore or piers yet as it's a little early but folks seem to be doing well with black drum, sheapshead, etc. at nearshore reefs.
On the south end in Murrells Inlet, he should contact https://www.mifcfishingcharters.com/ and in the Little River area: Capt. Mark Dickson at Shallow Minded Charters would be good. http://www.fishmyrtlebeach.com/
Another good option as he's passing through NC would be Capt. Ricky Kellum the "speckled specialist" in Snead's Ferry New River area. I've been watching him catch some monster trout on his facebook feed and have fished with him. Good guy.

Thanks Brent for the link..
He's scouting it out down there on his own with both his freshwater and saltwater gear..
I'm sure he'll meet up with someone who can provide him with some information..

BTW: Big marine biology program at CCU that operates out of Little River and Georgetowns Winyah bay. Might reach out and hook up with fellow students for time on the water.
