I have a 21 ft 1989 Souwester/Parker. i have a soft spot in my floor between the console and the stern. I will be making this repair this coming winter. But as I make plans I have begun to consider removing what I call the battery boxes located on each side of the boat at the stern. But I have a couple of questions.
First are they part of the structural integrity of the boat ?
Second. I can move the batteries and place them under the console. But where would I put the oil resevoir for my 2 stroke yamaha ? I don't think the bilge would be a very good location. This alone may force me to leave the boxes in the stern.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
