Painting non skid ,how much gel coat

Thinking I am going to go the gel coat method , I have a 2510 and plan on sanding down the deck .

Just wondering if a quart of gel coat is enough or do I defiantly get a gallon , the last quart I bought seamed to go bad so I don't want to get way to much
