Just bought a 2004 Parker 25 SE. I am outfitting her with a 12" Lowrance Gen 2 Touch Chartplotter/Fishfinder. I like the idea of having the storage that the factory console provides and putting the unit inside the cabinet, but want to at least consider altering the console to flush mount the unit on one side of the console (the port side), box it in with star board, and then add a small cabinet on the starboard side for cell phone, etc.

Has anyone done anything like this? Any thought or pics??

I will mount VHF and stereo in the overhead compartment.

Thanks!
Dave

I cut a lip in with to accommodate the 12 g2touch newhelm

I have 2 12' Ray displays on gimble mounts in electronics box and VHF and radio above as you described. Not a whole lot of room to work with.... I also painted the inside of the clear plexiglass flip up door to the displays with black plastic paint to stop window shopping of thieves around the marina. I always run with the door open.... You may have to purchase a stronger ram for it to stay open during rough seas, I did. Hope this helps. 8)
