I posted this question on THT and received quite a few opinions on what I should do. Main consensus was to put the bunks directly under the stringers... but I don't know where that is exactly. I copied a photo from the projects section here showing a member who redid the stringers on a 21 SE and they seem very close to center and it seems like the main bunks would be too close together if I put them there.

Anyway... would love some help anyone knows exactly what I should do. Someone even mentioned move them in under the stringers and than add another set of bunks for the outside... seems like that would give a lot of support and make loading very easy.

See pics. Thanks in advance.

When I was buying a new trailer for my 2120 I contacted Parker Marine and they gave me the measurements on where to put the bunks. Got a really quick response but I can't seem to find them now.

I went through this a few years ago when I got a new bunk trailer for my 21se.

I'll take a look at my current bunk setup. Not as tight as Parker recommended, but works well and no interference issues with the live-well pickup. I looked in the bilge and measured the distance between the main stringers and based it on that.

On a side note, did you install those target bunks or did they come on your trailer? I've been thinking about adding those to mine......

Good move posting here. I didn't add earlier that on my 23 DVCC the bunks are under the 2 center stringers and are pretty close together. My boat is across town but I'll try to get you a picture. I may also have a pic of the bunks on my old 21.

Brad21: The target bunks were on the trailer already, but I just put new brackets on and I'm getting them adjusted currently. They help a lot! Once the boat hits those you can drive it right to the roller on the winch.

Below is what Parker replied with. Sounds like its not much of a concern with the bunks being directly underneath the stringers. Hopefully this guy really knows what hes talking about.

I appreciate everyones help on this. I have uploaded the PDF diagram Parker sent that shows measurements. Hopefully this helps someone else out in the future.

"Justin,

I have attached the drawing with the measurements of your stringers. The stringers are 27 ½” apart or 13 ¾” off centerline. Your bunks should be fine just outboard of that out of the way of the running strake. No damage will be done if the bunks are not located directly on a stringer. Let us know if you have any more questions."
