Anybody own operate a b75m chirp trancducer 20 degree with the modified v was wondering how it works Airmar says its the right one but a buddy told me 12 degree might be better thank you

Modified V is what? 14deg's deadrise?

The Airmar flush / tilted element units have a variable of deadrise angles

0 deg unit = 0deg to 8deg

12 deg unit = 8deg to 15deg

20deg unit = 16deg to 24deg

It's all in the spec's on Airmar.com

Measuring your deadrise with boat on a trailer. Boat does Not have to be level....This method works around that.

You need a angle finder.

On the bottom of the Hull aprox 6in in front of transom.

Measure one side with angle finder.....write that down
Now measure other side ......write that down

Now add the 2 numbers and divide by 2....Thats your deadrise angle.
