Looking to put trolling motor on 2520 i have a 25 hp long shaft that came with the boat but have seen a lot of people running the 9.9 hp 4 stroke . Would this be sufficient for my boat and what length shaft would I want 20" or 25" or 30. I have an opportunity to get Honda8hp 20inch shaft but don't think it would work? Any help would be appreciated..

I have a 9.9 Yamaha on an extendable engine mount on the transom. This allows me to pull the kicker completely out of the water even when its tilted down. I'm not sure what shaft length my kicker is, but I know my transom mounted 300hp Is a 30in shaft.
