Hey Guys,

I am getting ready to install a stainless fuel filter assembly and need to find out what type of sealent to use on the brass fittings that thread into it.

Thanks in advance, 8)

I use nothing but Permatex 2A, as it never truly hardens. Some have used a teflon-based lube, but I have years of confidence in P-tex.

Note teflon tape is NOT recommended per ABYC and other groups as it can cold-creep and interupt the flow if not get into the fuel system. To me, one more so takes the change of introducing it (tape) into the system when/if changing a fitting or line, but I guess the risk is still there, albeit minimal of happening.

I bought and used some type of product called "Gasoila", which I have no recollection of origin. Works really good and is dedicated to gas/oil lines. Comes in a small can with a brush applicator in the lid. I use it around the property infrequently as well. Don't use tape.
