just to close the loop, i got another gt-15m inhull garmin transducer. i tried to reuse the older mounting ring, but it had been installed using silicone, not adhesive. when i filled it up with mineral oil, it separated from the hull/bilge. bummer! new one seems to be working fine - my temp...

my garmin seems to be gradually declining? temperature reads as -43, but no icebergs bottom scan/depth profile only works at slow trolling speeds, i've tried several frequency settings has anyone else had to diagnose this? do i suspect the transducer and can i replace it? thanks for any tips...
