Prop selection for F250 on 08 23 DVCC

I went with a PowerTech OFS4, 20" pitch. I tried the Rev 4 but she spun a bunch of RPM and the boat went nowhere. I then tried a Merc Mirage 4 blade and and while the it was pitched for the proper rpm band it just didnt have enough "umpf" to punch to push the boat. After talking with my Suzuki...

Parker - Suzuki DF 250 Guys

I have a 23' center Console (2300) and I did some extensive prop testing. I went with a Power Tech 4 Blade OFS4, 20" pitch. the Suzuki prop that I replaced was a 18.5" pitch and would turn 6200 RPM WOT. The PowerTech will turn 6300 RPM's WOT so the match (in WOT) was as close as I could get it...

    New transome

I agree. The wood is appears to be in excellent condition for age of the boat. Compare that to a Grady, Mako or Seacraft of same vintage and you wouldnt be as lucky!

    23 DVCC ride

JC, I know the feeling. My friend has a 23' Contender and he eats my lunch in a head sea. I seriously conteplated selling my Parker for a Contender. While I would have gained in a head sea ride I would lose alot of deck space. Since I always carry a load of weight in people and dive gear that...

    Dale - Powertech Prop Testing

I'll add a kudos for Powertech props. I have not had time to post any hard data to the Prop data base thread but I do have some thoughts on the Powertech. I have a 23 DVCC with a SUZUKI 250 HP. The reduction gear ratio is 2.29 to 1 which is lower than Yammi,Merc and Bomb's and Suzuki therefore...

    Carolina Lobster and grouper

What are the zip ties for on the bugs? Do you have to affix tags to your catch? The zip ties are to keep the lobster under control. These lobsters are quite a bit larger than the average Fla lobster making it hard to put them in a net-mesh bag, or for that matter any bag. So we use a zip tie...

    Carolina Lobster and grouper

Quick trip out on tue to try my new prop. We ran off 40 miles to about 115' of water. Did 2 quick dives picking up 7 "Carolina" sized Spiny's. We then worked our way inshore dropping down on small ledges for some grouper. Current was working against us (Wrong direction-parallel to the ledges)...

    Merc Rev IV x Four

Ken shipped my Rev 4 today so I'm looking foward to getting it tomorrow. Seems to be a popular prop for Parker owners and I'm sure we're helping to keep Ken in business. Let us know your performance #'s.

    23 DV Center Console Prop

Ran the Bravo 1, 22 pitch today. All I can say is :x ! Loaded down with fuel, 4 people, scuba tanks and gear put a strain on the motor. I like the way the boat rides, i.e. more level with no bow rise, but at 4700 RPM's I could only muster 22kts-23kts. And my fuel consumption was horrible, less...

    23 DV Center Console Prop

BradV, thanks for the clarification. With your and Seapup's recomendation, along with the database that GrouperJim started, I think I'll try the Rev 4 19P if the Bravo cant pull the load. Amazing how a different gearcase, i.e Zuke vs Yammi, makes that much of a difference between props. The 2300...

    23 DV Center Console Prop

Thanks for the input fellows. Tomorrow I am headed offshore and the boat will be loaded, 80 gallons of fuel, 4 divers with gear and tanks and a 172 qt cooler packed with ice ( we all know how ineffective the transom cooler is for holding ice). I did some more testing today with only myself...

    23 DV Center Console Prop

Just tried the Bravo 1, 22" Pitch prop. Boat performed very well. My motor is mounted in the "top hole", or motor is down all the way. Before the prop change I COULD NOT SEE the cavitation plate. I had planned on raising it one hole. However after running with the Bravo I CAN now SEE the cav...

    23 DV Center Console Prop

I have read all the threads on prop's for the 23 DV and it seems the Rev 4 17 and 19 pitch props are the favorites. I went to order one through Ken at Propgods and he recommended a Bravo 1 (4 Blade) for my boat due to the fact I havea 250 HP Suzuki which has a different gearcase gearing than the...

    Dive boat ladders

My ladder cost $180.00 installed, a very good deal by today's standard. The base is bolted to the engine bracket and the hinge consist of a piece of aluminum tubing with two screws holding it in place. It's very easy to remove the ladder for days that I am only fishing.

    Dive boat ladders

I had a custom dive ladder manufactured for my Parker. The welder built it to with-stand heavy loads. It is attched to the transom engine bracket. Works very well and have had adult male divers with double's on without any problems.

IN HUll Transducers on Parkers....do they work???

InshoreTroll, A shoot thru hull transducer will serve you well. I have a 23' DV Center Console as well. I mounted a Airmar P79 'ducer to the right (starboard) of the bilge pump in the bilge. Easy to install and easy to run the wires to the console. I did later on go back and mount a speed/temp...
