My recommendation would be a "walk off" mat that they use in office buildings. Fits well, does the job, easily replaceable and cheap.

I have a older 4208 with an 18D Garmin Dome added last Spring. Perfectly compatible, with a nice screen overlay. Also have Autopilot Simrad, all work great together. Since I've had my radar I have used it extensively, and consequently use my boat further out more frequently.
