    North of the Gas Docks

Launched from Solomon's today at 1130 and ran up North of the Gas Docks. Fished East and West on both sides of the shipping channel. About 1430 hooked up on a white umbrella rig in about 55' of water. Boated this 42" Striper; lots of fun landing it by myself.

    5/5 Off Chesapeake Beach

Went out by myself Monday. Trolled six-rod spread between radar towers and Breezy Pt in 35-40' water. After cleaning off jellies for the third time, I was deploying the fourth rod when a white tandem rig hooked-up. The fish rolled on the surface a couple times and did one run when he first got...

    Sister-in-Law's First Rockfish

I took my wife and sister-in-law fishing on the Western side of the channel/mid-Chesapeake Bay and was able to put them on some fish. The picture is my SIL's first fish; she had a blast.

    Memorial Day Stripers

Took some friends out Memorial Day and was able to put them on some fish. Launched from Chesapeake Beach and fished off Breezy Point in 30' of water. We were running one planer board with six tandem rigs and one solo umbrella rig. At the end we had three fish on at once. Largest was 37"...

    Mid-Bay Opening Day

Me and my buddy launched from Breezy Point (Md) and were away from the dock at 1215. We angled NE to the East side of the channel across from Chesapeake Beach. We ran s six rod spread and within an hour hooked one on a single parachute, suffered a little rectal-cranial inversion with the reel...

    Learn From my Mistake

I'm a little embarrased to share this but decided it is worth it if it helps prevent a serious mishap. I was returning from fishing with my wife and sister-in-law (SIL) in my 2100 SE. While overtaking a much larger sportfishing boat, I decided to pass on his starboard side. We were in a wide...

The Stink is Off the Boat!

I bought my 2100 SE last December and immediately put it into storage, then dreamed and schemed all winter about fishing season. I put her in the water in April, broke her in then had her serviced. We made the Chesapeake Bay opening of Striper season and had a couple days learning curve. Last...

    Center Console Canvas Covers

Greetings, attached are pictures of the covers I had made for the console and seats on my 2100 SE. Canvas Connections out of Herrington Harbor did the work and I recommend them to anyone in the western side of the middle Chesapeake that needs some canvas work done. I pulled the boat out of...

Cobia & Mackeral in Key West

Just returned from a week in Key West. In addition to a nice break from winter in Maryland, we went on an absolutely great fishing trip. We chartered with Capt. Jack Carlson of Two Conchs Sportfishing out of Marathon Key. He took us about 20 miles out on the Gulf side of the keys. Within an...

    Tackle Accessory Question

Greetings, I'm new to Chesapeake Bay sport fishing and have a tackle-related question. I'm set up and plan on running a six pole trolling spread during spring striper season. What are some of your thoughts or suggestions about using leashes/tethers on the poles so one or more don't go overboard...

    Greetings From New Member

Greetings all! Great site; I've done a lot of reading here over the last few months as a guest and gained a lot of valuable information. I'm retired from the U.S. Navy and working a second career until I win the lottery or pay-off my house. After much research, looking at boats and talking to...
