The xl is a modified v with a sixteen degree dead rise at stern. Rides stable can go in very shallow water beaches ,and better on the drift. The xld has a 21 degree dead rise at stern takes twins to power usually better in head sea not as good on drift

I have a 06 2520 xl with a f250 on it with bottom paint. It has standard 15-17 painted black prop on it. With heavy loads and 4-5 people it will fall off plane at cruise and is frustrating pain to work throttle even in slick calm conditions. Mid range fuel economy and performance is not good...
