28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 115s???

Your pictures make a convincing case. Nice dogs too. I'm 80 and nothing individually bad, just everything in general a little worn. Maybe I won't give up on the Parkers. Thanks FP

28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 115s???

Come on Warthog, I'm planning on 8 great-grand-kids swimming off the stern now and than. If I am going to buy a boat might as well include them as well. Besides, I'm a lot older than you, hence not as agile.

28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 115s???

Appreciate the input. In any event I am going to pass. Going to give up on the Parkers unless I can find one with a tuna door. Will work with the Gradys and the Wellcraft Coastal 270s. Thanks for your patience with me and all of the information afforded me.

28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 115s???

Being an 1989, one might have to replace the deck as well. I'll pass. As far as another question I have posted regarding "Tuna Doors" on the Parker 2520, have had one rely indicating his 2320 had the transom door, but no 2520s yet. Thanks

28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 115s???

Saw ad for a 1989 28 foot Parker Sport Cabin with twin 2011 Suzuki 115 hp 4 strokes. Boat had second helm and window a/c mounted for some additional weight. I question rather twin 115s are enough HP even thought they are DF Suzukis. What does the forum think? Thanks

Parker with a transom walk thru door????

Is that transom on the Grady, with the walk thru door also called a Euro Transom? I looked at a Wellcraft Coastal that had such a door but the seat next to it folded up back into the transom so one still had an open area there like a plain transom. The door with a boarding ladder will make it...

Parker with a transom walk thru door????

Did they every have a tuna door, or transom walk thru on a 2520?. A walk thru door from the extension thru the transom like those on the Gradys would be a plus for the great-grandkids swimming time. Don't want to spend time searching for a 2520 with one if they didn't make them. Thanks.

Parker with a transom walk thru door????

Brent, thanks, good to know. Was it a special order, or do you know?? What was the beam on that boat at that time? Thanks

Parker with a transom walk thru door????

Haven't noticed any of the pilot house boats with a walk thru transom such as found on Grady Sailfish. Did Parker make any of their boats with that feature? Thanks

Another hypothetical question, hull, motor, weight

Coming from the Diesel Powered world, the word is--the prop moves the boat. As I move into the Outboard world this background points me to the Suzuki, since it can turn a more effective prop.

    2520 cabin wall covering-conditon???

In looking at 2520s from 1994 up to 2000 vintage I note the material lining the interior of the walls of the cabin leaves a lot to be desired. Discolored, and in one case when I ran my hand over it the results was a "shower" of fine particles of material. The discolor appears to be from leaks...

Suggest a hauler for moving a 2520 on a trailer

Hauler, probably a moot point now. I'm putting the Parker search on the back burner--After 6 months of searching, looking at 6 boats, etc., it would appear $25,000 can't buy one worth having at that price. Have started looking at other boats that might do the job for us and the WAs are possible...

2005 DF225 Suzuki compared to other brand 225s

They were asking 27900. Contract before actual seeing the boat was 25000.

Suggest a hauler for moving a 2520 on a trailer

Capt Mike, I will keep looking but will also check out other boats as well if closer to home. Hauling it home is made easier in that I can use Mercury to get the permits. Didn't realize there were rentals companies that would let you rent to haul a load like that, oversize and all. The 350 would...

Suggest a hauler for moving a 2520 on a trailer

To close this out, the boat was pretty rough. The trailer was worse. I have just about given up on the Parkers. I have looked at 6 and not that impressed. I have had 5 boats that were all older than this last one I looked at, a 2000 model, and they all had better interiors, less rust on all the...

2005 DF225 Suzuki compared to other brand 225s

Good to hear. Your are loaded down when you leave the dock. Bet you have trim tabs however. The broker trying to convince me trim tabs are needed. When I referenced this forum she laughed--and said you believe what you read on a forum. Anyway, didn't even bother to sea trial it. Boat was pretty...

    Trim Tab System cost??

Ten years ago at 70 years young I would probably done the install myself, but today think I will pass. I need someone that knows how to bed the tabs, treat all screw holes and drilled holes to insure no water intrusion and get the wiring up to the controls and hooked up. I did install a...

    2000 Parker 2520 bottom??

Appreciate all the replies. I thought maybe some of the "tires" had come off the rollers as well. Will look at it tomorrow and sea trial as well. Airline schedule and weather permitting. The paint situation will get done before spring. We're in brackish water and with the colder water shouldn't...

    2000 Parker 2520 bottom??

Assume you mean the paint. We keep in brackish water so will have to keep it painted. Intended to post on All parker portion of the forum for more visibility but had a senior moment and messed up. Wonder if it can be moved? Thanks
