Cupped the props on my 2530...Hang on!!

Top RPM FOR YAM FS IS 6500 RPM, SO YOU ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO PROPER RPM. Something seems wrong with these numbers. And 54 MPH - real hard to believe. Sorry.

Agree w/ Porkchunker. Likely just a prop seal tho'.

    Is a 200 HPDI sufficient

Way underpowered IMO. For the most part you will generally get better gas mileage with a larger motor not working too hard than a marginal motor working at the top of its range.

    Loudspeaker

Before you mount that external speaker, you may want to experiment on various locations to determine what if any effect it will have on your compass. 3 Ft maybe not too much; closer and I have seen as much as 5-10 degrees of variation, depending on the distance and the magnet size of the...

    WTB: California 2120 or 2320

Used Parkers are few and far between in So cal- and the West Coast in general. I ran out of time and patience so I bought my 2002 2310WA w/F200 Yamaha Used from Delaware Marine Group in Dewey Bch, DE off the Boat Trader. Strait Internet deal- never went out there. Had it dragged out here for a...

    Perko chrome-over-Bronze thru-Hulls, 3/4" - only $16 ea

Nice- and pretty good price. I personally would lean towards SS if it could be had in 316. 304 not so much.

To bottom paint or not to bottom paint this is the question

I would recommend against bottom painting your boat if the most it will be in the water is 7-10 days in a row. Aside from the (considerable) expense, most typical ablative bottom paints are applied with a roller. This will leave a relatively rough bottom surface which will slow the boat down...

Pros and Cons of outboard brackets

I looked high and low for a 2310 with the bracket as I do not like the notch. The intrusion of the motor into the cockpit on the notch just takes up too much cockpit space IMO. We use the transom fishbox as a cooler, further saving space. Also if you dive, the large swimstep formed by the...

Yamaha Ring-Free. This is Yamaha 101- surprised your dealer has not recommended it. Spendy but good.

    Steering Hose

Actually, reread your post. You would be best served by stepping up to the plate and getting the Teleflex/Seastar KEVLAR lines. Spendy, but THE BEST-in terms of toughness and longevity.

    Steering Hose

Aeroquip hose and fittings. You will prob. have to go to a specialty "hot rod" shop to get these. They can fabricate anything.

    Yamaha F250 zincs

$170 sounds waay hi. If they are, for the most part, intact; let it ride- but keep a close eye on them. They deteriorate faster as they get older. WM has these for 1/4 of what you were quoted and they are a snap to replace yourself.

    Yamaha waterpump failure rate

Most any decent auto parts store should carry the Permatex

    Yamaha waterpump failure rate

Yes. Gun cleaning bore brush. Diesel fuel is a safe and effective cleaning solvent.

    Yamaha waterpump failure rate

Permatex Anti-Seize #133A. Conforms to Mil Spec: Mil-A-907E. Especially good on Aluminum and Stainless. Service operation temp.: -65F to 2000F intermittent.

25 foot walkaround powered by a yamaha 225 4 stroke

I also have a 2310 DV and it came with an F200 (which I was told BY YAMAHA probably only actually makes about 185HP). Very underpowered. Could not plane out with the Yam 17P prop when the boat was full loaded w/fuel, full 50 gallon bait tank and 3 persons. I propped it back to a 15P and it was...
