Largest swells your Parker can take

Yeah man, it was. I was in utter shock for about 10min after. I've been a hardcore boater/offshore fisherman here in Florida for almost 20 years and I've never had anything like that happen. And then last weekend, right after that, I rode an anchor like Superman over the reef in the Keys after I...

Largest swells your Parker can take

Learned a valuable lesson about cargo ships the other day...was trolling and ended up about a mile from a big Maersk freighter that was hauling butt closer to shore than I've ever seen and snuck up on us; guessing she was doing 15-20kts in a 500' ship. She was also only about 20mi offshore in...

    Generations of Parkers-The Tradition Continues.

AK, Great picture, nice to see a boat actually being used! For better or worse, I frequently find myself being the only one coming back from offshore on a sporty day, smiling as I pass the hundreds of shiny center consoles glued to the sandbar like limpets. As a testament to my 2320, last year...

    2520 with 500 HP

FWIW, CG calc gives 400hp if I'm understanding this doc right: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CFR-2002-title33-vol2/xml/CFR-2002-title33-vol2-sec183-53.xml Unless they want to do the full throttle quick turn test procedure noted at the bottom...if so, sign me up! 😁 I believe the 200's...

    Boat Movers for a 2320

I've tried the rental route before twice...I could never find a non-local rental for a tow vehicle (besides Uhaul box trucks). For example, Enterprise rents F250s, but you have to return where you picked up (not gonna happen). National companies (e.g. Avis, Hertz) typically have clauses...

Boat For Sale Nice 2300 won't last long

Overpriced, and doesn't even have a trailer. For comparison, my excellent condition 2013 2320 and trailer with every factory option and 300 yamaha with 80 hours on it was $68k a year and a half ago. A new one was about 2x that price. If a new 21 is only $10k more ($84k vs $74k), I'd cough it up...

Any backstory on why they are selling it? Personally, I'd open every hatch, flip every switch, inspect the wiring, pull the engine cover, check the anodes, eyeball the hull from stem to stern, inspect tires/hubs on trailer, check the gauges on the motor, get maintenance records, and run the crap...

What Wax/ Sealers/coatings do you guys use?

I use a Dewalt variable speed buffer with a wool pad and 3M Perfect It compound. Learned the trick on my old boat and I'll never go back, stuff is amazing. Light compound for regular/yearly grime and oxidation. The buffer is easy to use once you get the hang of it (watch the cord at all times...

The biggest fish you ever caught

241lb Manti Te'o. Catch and release, catfish are terrible.

    2320 repower

I second (or third? Fourth? Whatever) the no on the E-Tec. My boss has one and has only been able to find one shop in town that will service it (and poorly at that, for a hefty fee). I think any 300 would be fine honestly, Yamaha, Suzuki, or...dare I say...Mercury? A buddy of mine has one of the...

    Sealant under livewell

If you use that edging tool from Lowe's, you should be able to safely remove the old caulk without a razor. The silicone bead tools work pretty well, but I have found that you want to keep the bead pretty small or the excess piles up on the side of the tool. I'll have to try the dishsoap method...

Cost of a new boat going back years.

FWIW, I bought my 2013 2320 last year for $68k. Yamaha 300 with 80 hours (!), second control station, Load Rite aluminum trailer, windlass, Garmin GPS/fish finder/radar, stereo, VHF, never saw salt water. It was damn near factory new (for 2013), previous owner decked it out with all of the bells...

    Some issues need fixing

    Little dirtier, 2013 2320...no caulking.

Let's take a minute to talk about safety...

Hi pelagic2530, This is indeed very helpful information and I appreciate the perspective. It's funny, I have this hang up about the EPIRB being a one-trick pony, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would happily pay 10x the price for one in the event of an emergency. My thought...

Let's take a minute to talk about safety...

Thanks. Have you actually tried using the ACR? Just curious...debating between that and a 2-way messenger like the Garmin In-reach. Also found some pics of whatever precipitated the flipped boat on the Sebastian Inlet webcams. Tubing through a dangerous inlet with heavy boat...

Let's take a minute to talk about safety...

Today's lesson kids, is about not screwing around in dangerous inlets on small boats... Saw this coming back through the Sebastian Inlet yesterday around 2pm. No idea what happened, but there was a tube on a tow rope wrapped on the outside of the fender. It appeared that another boat picked up...

Don't have a Parker yet, but looking

Hi New Guy, I'm on the East coast of Florida and I too recently made the step up to a larger boat (moved from a 17' Palm Beach CC to a Parker 2320). Not sure if you have looked at the sport cabins, but they might be worth a gander if you like the Parker build. I spent hundreds of hours offshore...
