Casting Platform on 23 SE drain overboard?

SeaLand, I'm fairly sure my 2017 23SE drains out the bow portside but it may be a few weeks before I can test it to be certain. Maybe your drain is clogged? Where are you on the NC coast?

Adding cooler to top of casting platform

I think a fish bag might be the way to go, I can keep it rolled up in the console and have bags of ice in the platform cooler ready.

Adding cooler to top of casting platform

I enjoy the casting platform/cooler on my 23 SE when catching trout and drum but I would like to bring on board a larger cooler for larger species. I was thinking of adding a 145 qt cooler with a tie down kit on top of the platform. Has anyone else done this? Does it seem to work out ok?

    New tower installed 23SE

I have fly by wire on the motor but I think I am going to have a Yamaha dealer do the rigging, I would save 8 hours of labor but I think it's a little out of my league I probably should rephrase my original post "still need to have someone do the rigging"

Casting Platform on 23 SE drain overboard?

The console is so big I can store anything I need in there and keep the front box open, keeps ice for a full day in warm weather.

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

So I only need 5200 around the motor bolt holes, nothing around the support braces? I was planning on making the length as long as possible and may even go with a 6" u channel of space allows

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

Would I need to silicone aground the metal brace pieces?

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

If I went with 2 U channel bars on the inside would I even need a plate on the outside? The jack plate alone would have a larger foot print on the outside than just the motor bracket alone

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

Great idea warthog5, I may end up have a plate cut to cover as much area as possible on the top and go with the u channel below or the u channel above and below

Thanks, seems like an easy but effective solution

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

So replace the small plate that is there now with a larger plate to cover more area on the inside and outside of the transom?

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

My main objective is to be able to go through 2 ft of water without be motor trimmed way up

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to keep the notch even though I do like the Armstrong brackets better than the porta brackets. Besides closing off the transom $$$$ what else can be done to add the needed strength for a jack plate.
