Hint if you didn't figure this out already (it didn't dawn on me until after I ordered a replacement :| ). If the top of the latch is broken, you can just swap the Port and Stbd latches and you are good to go. The broken part will be on the bottom (which you don't need) and you saved your self...
Might be a long shot, but it sounds like a fuel issue. We were on a friend's boat last weekend and he has the same motor as you. We were running and his motor just quit on him. He had never had an issue with his motor prior to this. After giving it a lot of gas, it started up again...
I don't know about the corrosion X. I just use the marine grease.....
Also, my bonding wires have zero corrosion, so my system must be working. Give it a try and monitor the results. It has to be better than doing nothing....

I've got an AC unit on my 2530, but honestly have only used it once or twice. Opening the windows to allow the breeze to come through is all I really need. If I were to overnight with the wife, then I would probably use it.
Awesome program! They do the same thing in Panama City, Fl and this will be my third year taking guys and gals out fishing for the day. Highly recommend getting involved with it if you are able. Sure gives you a great feeling at the end of the day :D
