Thinking of building a step up platform in the bow of my 1988 25' Sou'westr for batteries for my 36 volt Garmin trolling motor . Any suggestion would be appreciated. Also wondering if I will need a wedge under mounting bracket to keep motor straight up and down as the bow deck turns up a bit...

Makes more sense in the front, plumbing is more of a project.

Considering putting a similar tank but smaller ( 27 gallon) just in front of the outboard. Pluming the outlet over the transom. Might be too much weight on the back of boat?? Boat is a 1988 Sou'westr 25 ft. 200 Suzuki.

Never did find one like I wanted. Looking for something I can put a cooler under with rod holders. Plenty of new ones online not much in the used market.

Thanks Warthog, Lot more moving parts in that additional 25 HP. Any ideas on preferred operating RPM of the 2 engines? The 1988 200 Yamaha on my 25ft Sou"westr has plenty of power for what I do.

Thouhgts on a 200hp versus 225 hp Suzuki on a 1988 Sou'westr 25ft. CC . 225 weights 77 lbs more. Oh, and $3000 more.

Good point, hoping wide beam will carry the extra weight of newer 4 stroke. My other boat has a Cat diesel in it so I'm learning here with my fun travel boat.

Planning on buying a new 200, 225 outboard for my 1988 Sou'westr. Is it even an option these days? Yamaha or Suzuki . I'm in Maryland.
