Earlby - You have been hammering away on the price of this boat for as long as the ad has been running. I wonder why that is. Could it be you are indirectly trying to negotiate a better price for yourself? Because other than that, just exactly what do you think you are accomplishing? The rest...
I find Earlby's comment without redeeming social value. Perhaps he doesn't know just exactly how much it costs to do the kind of really first class fitting out that you have done. Haven't we all spent a pile on the "last one I will ever own" and then had life intervene? So I for one want you...
Porpoising is a sure sign that something is set wrong. I owned a 2520 w/225 Yamaha for 2 years. I found the 225 to be not quite enough power to cruise at 25 mph at anything other than full throttle. I went offshore many times in New England, often to 60 miles and occasionally to 100 miles...
I had a 2520 MV with a 225 Yamaha. Couldn't cruise at 25 mph Actually could barely hit 25 WOT. Always wanted a "bit" more power. I would not have considered a 250 - too little margin, too far above 80% throttle on cruise at 28-29 mph. I think the 300 is a perfect fit. Had the 190 gallon...
You've got a bunch who know more than I do but........what about the prop? No guarantee that it's the right size for that boat. Given that you work in a marina it's likely that you will have access to some other props that will tell you in a hurry whether your motor is over-propped.
I have a buyer for my 2520 but his marina won't let him have a boat longer than 32' with the motor tipped up. i'm a foot or 2 too long. Does anyone know for sure whether the bowsprit can be removed without doing any serious damage or raising structural lissues.
Thanks,
Tom
Headed down this coming week - will take more pictures - still under shrink wrap but it's the inside stuff (helm, cabineets, electronics) that I figure people want to see. If there's a particular picture you would like to see let me know before Wednesday.
Empty Pockets is for Sale! I dearly love my 2004 2520 XL, modified vee Parker but I’ve been bitten by the offshore bug and want a bit more boat with twin engines, so my boat is up for sale. You all know the basic 2520 description. I don’t have many pictures and the baby is under winter shrink...
