I have a 2820 with a very similar situation. I used a seat base called smooth moves. The nice part about the smooth moves base is its adjustable for the person's weight, it has a height adjustment, it can adjust forward and back, and can even turn.

I have a 2005 2820 Deep V with twin Yamaha 250 4 stroke motors. I would be stoked to get anywhere close to the milage you guys are reporting. On a good day I get 1.1 and sometimes with a full fuel tank and full bait tank, I get about 0.9 I cant afford to use it much anymore.

About 7 years ago I had a Parker 23 center console (before getting my 2820), I had the Airmar in hull ducer and really liked it. It gave very clear readings at high speeds.
