replacing anchor locker hatch

2520( 2001ish) I just picked up has an anchor locker hatch and I will most likely remove it to install an anchor winch.

Has any one attempted this?
 
I have, I removed the hatch cover and used it for a template, I took a a glulam beam and traced the hatch cover onto it, sanded it down filled any voids , painted it and mounted the winch to it, it came out slick, and if i sell the boat i can remove the winch and reinstall the cover

Wow that looks great! Did you bolt it to the bottom of the anchor locker? Is that what the four holes are for?
