2520 XL with new Suzuki 300

When you are up on plane where is the cavitation plate? If it’s below the surface you are sitting to deep on the bracket and adding a lot of drag. What is the WOT RPM rating for the engine and what are you seeing for max RPM?

Bilge Slam Hatch replacement on a 2005 2320

I have storage under each side of the V-berth cushions all the way forward. These storage compartments have the same hatch as the one for the aft bilge access on my boat.

Bilge Slam Hatch replacement on a 2005 2320

On my 2003 2520 the aft hatch is the same as the two under the cabin bunks, I swapped them around. The one from under the bunk was like brand new.

He’s talking about moving his GPS antenna not the VHF.

Internal GPS antenna and Sport Cabins

The heading sensor, HS60 in my case, also enables radar overlay on the chart plotter/GPS. If anyone is interested I can start a new topic and put up some screen shots.

Internal GPS antenna and Sport Cabins

I have a Simrad in the Pilot House, internal antenna and haven’t had an issue. I even connect to my house WiFi when the boat is in the driveway for spring preps to download any software updates to the Simrad. I have added an HS60 heading sensor/GPS/digital compass to the top of the pilot house...

Help with identifying GPS wires on the back of older Icom VHF

That connector should go to your plotter. The VHF should go to a NEMA 0183 network hub or a network connector on the back of the plotter. The plotter would send the GPS info to your radio.

Help with identifying GPS wires on the back of older Icom VHF

The molded connector is the external speaker connector. The butt splices are your NEMA GPS connections. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but there should be a YELLOW wire coming out of the cable jacket, this would be the +NEMA, a GREEN wire coming out of the cable jacket and this would be the...

2014 25 SE bilge pump float switch replacement.

Check that the fused power wire really goes to the + battery, for some reason mine came wired to the load side of the battery switch. I moved it over to the battery. Check the ground wire for corrosion as well, it will be going to a common terminal block. A high resistance ground will keep it...

Pic of my Radar screen. Is this normal?

Just to give you an idea of what a newer digital radar can do. These images were taken while I was at the dock, one is a top down aerial view of the channel I’m in and the other is from my 4G radar at 1/4 mile range. The white dots are me tracking a paddle boarder riding the outbound tide. You...

Pic of my Radar screen. Is this normal?

I see on your radar display that ES is highlighted. This is a setting called echo stretch and is used at longer ranges to enhance the echo size due to signal loss at long range. Check to make sure it is OFF at short range use, it may help define your image at shorter ranges.
