The opportunity has presented itself to repower with a new Yamaha F300 for essentially the same money as the Suzuki 300 that I'm currently on a wait list for. I'm scared of the Yamaha corrosion issues you still see rearing their ugly heads on motors produces as recently as 2018. The boat is kept on a mooring, so flushing the motor after every use isn't an option. Has Yamaha ever resolved these issues? Originally, they seemed isolated to the exhaust, but now I read that they exist between the mating surface of between metals.
