Although it is currently snowing out,
I keep thinking of spring when I can get the boat in the water and what I need to do before that.

This being my 1st boat, I was wondering what is req'd for de-winterizing a boat and getting it ready for use after sitting all winter.
Is this something one can do themselves or have it done by a marina?

Thanks

Joel

Assuming that your boat was properly winterized there's really very little.
Take off cover or shrinkwrap. Check charge and Install batteries. hook up electronics. Drain antifreeze (if any) out of raw or fresh water lines and poti-pot or holding tank.
Engine: Once again, if properly winterized, change oil and you are ready. You will want to change the plugs if not done as part of winterizing.
Test run it, it will smoke a bit at first as the fogging oil burns off.
I also touch up the bottom paint and clean and wax the stainless at this time.
Load up and go!!
