Hi, I'm going to purchase a new Parker in the next couple of weeks between a 2520xl or the 2520xld I fish Lake Michigan for salmon and was wandering what the speed difference was between the 2 boats?

The 2520 xl is probably going to come with a single yami 4 stroke 250. The xld should come with twin 150's or the new 8cyl 300.

I can speak for the xl with a F250. With no modifications to props or tabs, full tank of gas, 350 lbs of passegers, 200 lbs of stuff, flat water, no headwind:

Should do 6000 rpm WOT 40- 41 mph
5000 rpm 30-32 mph
4000 rpm 20-24 mph
3000 rpm 15-18 mph.

Other guys with the deep v can give you their numbers.

Good Luck.

As an owner of a 25XLD with twin Yamaha 150's with no modifications, full tank of gas and 400 lbs of passangers, 200 lbs of gear, light chop, no head wind:

WOT 6000rpm 44-46 mph
5000 rpm 36-38
4000 rpm 26-28

IMOP twins are the way to go on this boat.

Gotta agree. Even though bad fuel could disable both motors, I still would feel more comfortable having a second motor, especially if your going way offshore...

Always thinking the same thing, but twins are still better in case of mechanical failure. Plus it looks bad ass!!

I've got the same boat as Chrisn. Don't know much about fishing the Great Lakes but I can tell you it's an awesome boat in the Pacific. Absolutely love it.
