mirage 15 3\8 18 pitch 3 blade boat 2320 with f250 what do you think--this maybe what im looking for??? its a tough decision

dave

for the best speed and economy you wont beat that mirage. If you feel like you need more stern lift then the Rev 4.

If you run heavy in ocean swells, get the rev 4. The mirage has better economy in calm water, but doesn't hold speed well in the big water. I have the same boat/motor and have run both props.

which prop is better for backing up into a slip

I have found the larger blade area - bigger diameter, the better reverse control. They make a 15 3/4 diameter Rebel prop for my E-tec that is awesome for slow speed control and backing (at the expense of top end). It is compared to it's speedier Viper counterpart here:

The 3 blade Rebel has as much blade area as the 4 blade I tried and quite a bit bigger diameter, outmanuvering the 4 blade in reverse and at slow speed by a good margin.
