Yes I want Dodge Power Wagon from 50's or the military version, the M37, UniMog, Porsche 911, 1972 BMW 2002, 1969 Corvette with a 6 pack carbs, my brother' 65 Mustang, 63 GTO, 61 Lincoln and 49 Cadillac, and my 69 Cutlass back along with my 70 English Ford Cortina. Lastly MB 500slc

Is this normal or abnormal?
 
It's great to be passionate about things as you are and I too love the vintage Jags. When I graduated High School I took a job with a guy who was one of those smooth talking sell ya wool socks in Bahamas kind a guy. He had a "New" convertible black Jaguar XJS with the V12. I was so in love with that car. It was not the price or the speed just something about the long hood and the sleek lines. The interior with walnut wood trimmings was beautiful and the craftsmanship was astounding. It wasn’t until 1999 before I realized that dream. A friend of mine owned a local restraint and drove the exact car and totally abused it as if it was a Ford Escort. I finally talked him into parting with it and fully reconditioned it. I always felt like a million bucks in this car and even though it was considered a piece of crap by many I didn't care. Over the years things changed and a two passenger car collecting dust in my garage didn't fit my lifestyle and I ended up selling it. I was really sad to let it go but sold it to my neighbor and still see it from time to time. I am really glad I owned it but I guess the moral to the story is it's good to want and be passionate but take your time and get what you want in life while you can enjoy it because once you have it the passion dwindles. It's almost as much fun wanting something as it is to own it. I can’t explain it but things in life seem to work this way and to me it’s really more about having people to share your passion with. :wink:

I would like to have a nice Ford F-100 pick-up truck that would need minor work and in very good shape.That is what i want.
 
My first car (bought just out of high school) was a 1969 Camaro SS.
If I knew then (back in the mid 70's) what I know now, I never would have sold that car.
But... with the oil embargo and the long gas lines of the era, it seemed the right thing to do at the time. Stupid move.

Just try to find a real 69 SS these days for less than 100 grand. :(

Of course, I'd also like to have a 32 Ford, a 40 Ford, a 40 Willys, a 66 or 67 GTO, a 66 Shelby GT500,
a real Ford GT and a real AC Cobra (the 427 model thank you)... I think you get the idea.

I've always been a car guy and will probably always be a hot rod junkie at heart, even if it is through the pages of Hot Rod and Muscle Car Review.

Maybe after I retire, I should pull the 4.0L out of my Cherokee and drop a small block crate motor in her.
There is a guy in this months issue of Hot Rod that did that (and more) to an International Scout 80. :)

Before I went off to college I restored and had a ball driving a 1949 XK140 Roadster. Talk about an alluring automobile. I remember it had this cut glass bulb that glowed green coming out of the wood dash - it was for changing into overdrive.

What a car. It really got the looks, that's for sure.

Dear Santa, I would love to have a muscle car that I saw the older guys in the neighborhood drive when I was around 5. Santa, I promise to be an idiot and smoke the tires all, all, all, the time. Shelby GT 500 Tang 1969. Thanks Santa!
 
Austin-Healey! I completely restored a 1957 100-6 and a 1963 3000. Sold them both then bought a 62 3000 to restore. But I could hardly make myself work on it. It got so we only drove it a couple nights a year and I sold it too. Wish I had kept the 57, it was really a unique car and the first one is always special.

Could not tell that she was a full frame model, but that should mean an early 60's intermediate.
Since it isn't a Mopar, that leaves us with GM's or Ford, and with just the shot of the firewall, any guess by me would be just that... only be a guess.

What motor is going in her? (which might be too big a hint)
 
I always wanted a 1970 Dodge Challenger the same as in the movie "Vanishing Point." I almost bought one when I was in high school. It had a 383 six pack with Hurst 4 on the floor, air shocks but..
I probably would have killed myself in it. Too much power!!

Back when that car came out, our local Dodge dealer parked a 340 six-pak model (I believe) in a Main Street parking space right in the center of downtown.
I was working in a jewelry store right next door, so I got to walk outside along with my co-workers to oogle it.

A guy I worked with who owned a 1965, 289 powered Mustang walked around the car two or three times... then said to me, "That thing is like $ex without the mess."

He was right. :wink:
