Looking to add a kicker motor to my 2310 for trolling and backup for the main. Seems like most people go with the 9.9hp yamaha high thrust for their kicker, but want to ask if anyone has experience with other manufacturers or more economical ways of adding a kicker? A new 9.9 ht yamaha is pretty spendy and I can’t find a decent used one (I’m in So Cal). Or is it worth biting the bullet and paying up for the yamaha. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Also, a bit concerned about adding the weight of a 9.9 (120 lbs) to the stern. A 6hp is half the weight, and could be used for a shore dingy on overnight trips. Has anyone used a 6hp for their auxiliary? If so, did it have power to push a Parker?
