Outboard transom shield

Hello everybody. I just bought a 2004 2320sc with a 225 yamaha. Open transom. My question is what have you done about a sleeve for the controls that run into the gunnel just above the waterline running through and into the Bilge. Pics this evening. Just thinking this could pose a problem with water and heavyish seas. Thanks

My rigging tube failed due to sun rot and switched the TH zippered sleeve. It is ok but went back to rigging tube and improved motor adapter this year. I bought parts from SIM
