What cased that?

Poor Prep? Poor Primer? Is it Powdercoated?
But ultimately...It is the stainless contacting the alum.

Door Frame will need to be removed and stripped of the seal and broken down to just the parts. It will need to be Blasted and then Powdercoated or.... Epoxy Primed and painted with a High end Urthane.... Something like Tamco's AmerFlint II or Awlgrip.

That gets you back to a nice finish.

Now How to keep it that way? The Stainless fastners MUST be isolated from the alum...... and thats the tricky part.

It has stainless countersunk screws in it. Those will be THE hardest to isolate. This is due to the counter suck screw head design.

Switch to a pan head screw with a small nylon /plastic washer under the head. Drill the holes in the frame "Before painting" so that a Very small plastic tube can be slipped in each hole and that will isolate the threads. That is where the problem starts,as the threads go in and nick the new painted surface then sit in contact with the stainless...... and the corrosion begins again. All fastners should be coated with Tef-Gel.

There is likely a nylon tube / washer combo out there that will accomplish coverage protection. Thank you for your help. Probably best to find someone here in SoCal that can blast and powder coat this thing and make it right.
