hello all,
i have a raymarine c80 and a raystar nmea gps receiver. the receiver has the end cut off and i have a Nmea cable that came with my c80, but i can't seem to get them to talk to each other.
The gps receiver was given to me and i was told it works great but i cant seem to get it figured out. i was wondering if the receiver unit which has
E32037 on the under side of it, is even compatible with the c80,
Bottom line is i cant figure the wiring out and need a little help.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
CHris

Chris - If I recall correctly, the red wire goes to the green wire. It was not clear in the directions.

The manual should show how they go together. My RL7 series of displays have a SeaTalk connection box to bring all the SeaTalk connections together, and they offer a NMEA connection box also. My manuals show how to make the connections.

Manuals for your devices are available in pdf format for download from the Raymarine site.

Just completed that project...

Assuming its the same color code as the Raystar 125 gps,
Using the flat plug Seatalk wire from the C-80

Red & green to red
yellow to yellow
brown and bare to ground
That done they should chat happily.

If not Raymarine's website has a pretty good FAQ that covers most situations

You can use telephone type scotchlock or any good solid splice. I used solder ends and a small bus block mounted under the dash.
