Rear Box Lids? How to you keep them from blowing out?

What do you do to keep the rear box lids from blowing out? Mine is an older 1800CC. I had a 03 boat that had hinges, but on this one, the lip is too tall to put hinges on. Right now, I just have them bungee corded from the inside. They work, but worry about them coming out while on the highway.

Bungees on mine as well right now - and I hate it. Rediculious.

If the good lord is willing come this winter I am going to cut that lip down to just above flush and install a piano hinge on the port and starboard sides.
