What is special about the Speedmaster? Do you prefer star drags?

I think I have an almost new one laying around I'd sell.

Nope. I don't fish live bait. :)
I'll stick with my TLD15's (for tandems) and TLD20's (for umbrellas). 8)
 
I really like the 6:1 ratio, very sensitive and easy to adjust star drag and, It has proven to be bullet proof.

I use it for trolling kings and anything else that like to burn line.

They were made in Japan and later on, in Malaysia. The Japanese built ones are very well made.

I prefer the III, but will buy the IV. Let's see what TunaJoe comes up with.

The other thin I forgot to mention is that I'm not very good at casting conventional reels. The drag/clutch system on the Speedmasters are designed to help guys like me from birdnesting the spool!

Major benefit.
