My friend saw that seller buy that boat at a dealer only auction last week from Bank of The West. It is a repo, and he only paid $45,000 for it. I can't believe he is trying to make 20 grand!

Wow. I was at that auction too. I was checking out the RVs the day before. I saw that Parker 2320 sitting there looking pretty. I was impressed with the autopilot. An auction employee was overheard saying how people were starting the engine dry for several minutes. I dont know this for a fact but you can never be too cautious about used boats.

One big misconception about repo boats at auctions is that they are clean boats but I've seen some pretty messed up repos at that auction. Many have fried motors because people are pissed when they know they are going to lose the boat to the bank so they abuse the heck out of them.

I suppose the worst case scenario is an engine rebuild. I'd rather have a clean one owner boat than a bank owned repo. Just my $.02
